Mom and the Gov at Daley Freeze

Mom has become a real celeb working at the Freez. The Gov and some of his people were in town the other day and they came to the freez to eat. Donna, her boss made her leave the grill and come out and have her picture taken woth him. When he learned that mom was the chef he said that he better be extra nice to her. I always knew she was a celeb. As a side bar mom said the Gov had a student special (hamburger and fries) with just catsup on it. kinda bland don't you think?

To the best daughters a mother could hope for!!

Thank you so much for the kind words and gifts that you gave me on mothers day!! I love my daughters so much and feel so blessed to have them sent to me to be their mother!! I look up too and respect you all so much for the women that you are and the wonderful girls you were growing up!! I can honestly say that I loved watching you grow up and YES I loved the teen years too!! Probably the most!! I t was so fun to attend all of the activities that you did in your growing years, the clogging trips, cheerleading, dance recitals, softball games, singing performances, etc. And I am especially glad that we were able to enjoy them as a family!! Your dad was a great supporter of all you girls were involved in too!! Sometimes he was one of the few dads there cheering you on in whatever you did!! He is great and I love him too!! I love my grandchildren and future grandchildren and look forward to being there to cheer them on in all of their activities too! Thank you for being such great women with strong convictions , beliefs and testimonies. I learn so much from you and you make me try to be better every day. I Love You!!

The devine Calling of Mothers

Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother’s image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child’s mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness the first assurance that there is love in the world. The noblest calling in the world is motherhood.
True motherhood is the most beautiful of all arts, the greatest of all professions. She who can paint a masterpiece, or who can write a book that will influence millions, deserves the admiration and plaudits of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy, beautiful sons and daughters, whose immortal souls will exert an influence throughout the ages long after paintings shall have faded, and books and statues shall have decayed or have been destroyed, deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God.
Mothers sow the seeds in childhood that determine to a great extent life’s harvests in adulthood. A mother who instills into the souls of her children respect for one another and love for motherhood and fatherhood, renders a great service to the Church and to humanity in general. Children from such homes go out into the world as good citizens—citizens who will render the service which their parents have rendered, to fight the battles which their fathers and mothers have fought. …
Motherhood is the one thing in all the world which most truly exemplifies the God-given virtues of creating and sacrificing. Though it carries the woman close to the brink of death, motherhood also leads her into the very realm of the fountains of life, and makes her co-partner with the Creator in bestowing upon eternal spirits mortal life. President David O. McKay makes this statement in a talk that he gave on parenthood. I truly know what he says is true. Because of the influence of my mother and my wife and daughters I am a better person and have grown closer to them and my Savior Jesus Christ. I love and thank all from the bottom of my heart.

Moms; Remembering mine, Loving yours.

On this Mothers day I am thinking about my mother and missing her. To help with the missing part I think about the wonderful mother she was to me and it helps me. She was the best. I miss the early morning conversations around the kitchen table before we started our day. I miss the late night talks after the day was through to discuss the happenings of the day and the lessons learned. I miss her humor. She could make me smile no matter what was going on in my life and help me to see and understand that life was good. I miss her positive spirit. She could take a bad situation and turn it into a positive.I miss the way she walked. Her sweet short stature with that energitic shuffle like she was always late to get things done. I miss her apple pie, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and Sunday dinners. She could cook and always made sure that I had something to eat. I miss her love and compassion for others. She was always doing for others and that was a great example for me and sometimes I forget the example taht she taught. I miss being able to do things for her and seeing her smile and know that she was happy and pleased. I miss how she adored my wife and children. She truly was a wonderful grandmother and mother-inlaw(I think she was a more a second mom). I miss her love and sometimes its hard when I think about her and all the things that she meant to me and my life. I am grateful for her and the life taht she lived. She taught me how to live my lifeand enjoy it. She taught me that I needed to find someone to share my life with who I could love and who would love me back. Someone who would compliment my life and improve me in who I am and who I could be. Someone who would be a friend and partner through lifes journey no matter what might come. I followed her guidance and was lucky enough to find that person in your mother. I love her very much and grow to love her more every day that we have together. I am greatful for her example. I am greatful for the relationship that she has with our daughters. As I watch each of you in your lifes I can see her influence in each of you and it makes me smile. Her example and teachings and love has molded each of you into beautiful women, in whom I am very proud of and love with all my heart. I am so thankful for all the women in my life. You all mean so much to me and I thank Heavenly Father every day that he blessed my life with his choice daughters to share my life with. To learn from, to grow with, to laugh with, to build memories with and most of all to love and be loved.
